Hunter Boots

I did a lot of research before purchasing my Hunter boots. These boots aren’t cheap, especially for rain boots. So, I wanted to answer any questions any of you might have if you are thinking about purchasing a pair. In case you are wondering I am 5’7 and I typically wear size 8.5 in shoes.

  1. Hunter’s run really large. Like I said I am an 8.5 and these boots only come in whole sizes. So, I went for a size 8 because I knew if I bought an 8.5 they would be too big. The 8 is perfect for me!  I can wear thick socks and they still fit perfectly! So if you are lucky enough and wear a whole size buying these won’t be as difficult.
  2. I read that the ‘Original Tall’ are very heavy and clunky (I don’t own a pair of the original ones so I can’t tell you this for a fact). I purchased the ‘Tour Gloss’ because its basically the same boot minus the heavy clunky part. They are wonderful! They are ‘packable’ so you can bend the leg part of the boot. They are still stiff that they stay upright when wearing them, so don’t worry!
  3. The larger the boot size the taller the Boot. The size 7 I own hits well under my knee. Since I am taller I don’t have to worry about the length. For those of you that are shorter, a size 7 would most likely hit right under your knee and be perfect but if you ordered a size 8 or larger it might be too tall and uncomfortable. Fortunately for shorter girls the ‘Huntress Boot‘ is a perfect alternative because the shaft is shorter.
  4. If you prefer the flat/matte finish over the glossy they will get what you call a ‘blooming’ effect (fancy word for foggy). This is normal with rubber and you can use a boot buffer cream or olive oil for a cheap alternative to wipe it away! Some people like the ‘blooming’ effect, whatever floats your boat!

I really love my Hunter’s! I hope this helps! If you have any questions just ask!  If you enjoyed reading please SUBSCRIBE to my blog!

Hi, what brand is your gingham shirt? I love that way the checks are smaller on the button placket. Cute overall look. Thanks!
