How was everyone’s fourth?! The fourth of July is one of my absolute favorite holidays! Although, ever since having Porter I feel like every holiday is a big deal to me! I think it’s that maternal urge to make your own family traditions, something that you can look back on, and say, ahhh those were special times!

I have been a little MIA lately, honestly just trying to soak in family time, working around the house, reading, and enjoying the sun! Our next project is to landscape the backyard, I can’t wait!! We drove to Bend last week to visit family, the drive was beautiful, and I really got to appreciate how nice of a town Bend is. The last time I was there it was for my bachlorette party and I don’t really remember too much! Haha.

This is my first one shoulder top purchase ever! I’ve never liked the one shoulder trend because it reminds me of a toga, (Toga! Toga! Toga!) So I never even tried it. When I saw this white eyelet one I didn’t even hesitate! It’s so simple and comfortable and I’m a sucker for anything eyelet! Also, these jeans are the best and have been completely restocked!

I know that summer is basically over, but I have to talk about a couple of my favorite swimsuit trends of summer 2016.

My favorite swimsuit this summer, hands down, is my interchangeable suit from Beach Gal Swimwear! Their unique suits, in my opinion, are genius! They are really high quality, come in great colors, and have over eight beaded attachments for your tops and bottoms to choose from! Being in Maui for seven days and spending almost all of my time at the beach and the pool it was awesome to get more than one look out my bikini! Each swimsuit is easily designed to mix and match for any occasion, mood, or festivity! Who doesn’t love options?!

One of the biggest summer trends was one piece Swimsuits! I LOVE this white one from Forever 21! It was great for hanging out by pool, and so easy to just throw on a pair of shorts for running back to our room, or going to grab a quick lunch!

While in Maui we stayed at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa on Kaanapali beach. It was a beautiful resort! They have so many different pools and hot tubs and it’s great if you are staying with kiddos! Our room had a great kitchen for extended stays! If you are wanting to save money I recommend stopping by Costco for groceries to avoid eating out for every meal. We mostly ate at Duke’s Beach House at our resort for the simple fact that the food and service was AMAZING! I highly recommend eating there if you are in the area. The one thing we did not make in our room was coffee! The coffee everywhere is way too good! We loved the Cafe across the street, Java Jazz, and Bad Ass Coffee! My biggest “complaint” about our room was the lighting in the bathroom! Don’t laugh! I basically was in the dark (pun intended) about how I looked everyday!

It really was one of the best trips ever for me! Lounging with my husband and having no plans really made it great!

Hope everyone is ready for Fall!  I know I am.

This boho dress from Bailey Blue Clothing was one of my faves for our Maui trip! I love the boho print even more than I thought I would, and it’s perfect for transitioning into the fall season! Accessorizing with boots or booties and a hat would look so cute. The most exciting part of any dress is learning whether it has pockets or not… and this one does! Yay! I am wearing a size small, if you are torn between what size to get I would size up. I think this boho dress would look cute a little looser and flowy, I probably could have went with a medium.

We woke up early to explore the iconic Front street, it was so cool! We went to the Peter Lik gallery, oh my word, it was so amazing! Some of the most captivating photography I have ever seen. You’re not allowed to take photos or else I would have! After brunch, (I don’t think I could ever get tired of banana macadamia nut pancakes!) we checked out all the cool tee shirt shops and got gelato! The one thing I wished I would have got was shave ice! My best friend said it’s amazing!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

I have a thing for backless dresses, my wedding dress was backless, and I loved it! I like how long this Fashion Junkee backless maxi dress is! I hate when a maxi dress is too short, I don’t like my ankles to be showing, it makes me feel like the dress is too small.  This one fit all my expectations of the perfect Maxi Dress. The lace detail around the bust is so pretty, but I did have to use some double sided fashion tape just so I didn’t expose anything when I leaned forward. I did wear my adhesive bra, it’s perfect for outfits like this! The skirt is double lined (woo-hoo!) so no need to worry about about it being see thru! For reference, I am wearing a size small and it comes in different color options! They have a ‘mocha taupe’ color that is amazing! This is second item I’ve received from Fashion Junkee and I really like their company! Check them out!

Next week is Porter’s birthday! I can’t believe he is going to be three! He has successfully chosen an ice cream cake with Star Wars decor. No word on what he specifically wants for a gift, still just every toy at Target.
